Senior Minister’s Summer Address from Rev. Michael Hiltz
Welcome to Summer 2008! It has been a long cold winter and spring seemed to be a long time coming. Hopefully with vacation time and traveling you will have an enjoyable summer.
In June we had a phenomenal visit from our leader Rev. Marilyn Rossner. She delivered a wonderful message circle and her workshop entitled "Akashic Records" was extremely informative. Our Sunday night service was very high energy and marked the first time in many years that Rev. Marilyn delivered her lecture from the trance state. I remember many years ago when Rev Fred was with us that Rev. Marilyn coming out of trance, fell on his lap. It was such a pleasure to see so many people in attendance and I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your strong support.
Rev. Marilyn brought several guests with her from Montreal including Sister Leona and it was delightful to see her here in Halifax once again. The other guests were Rev. Catherine - a very gifted medium who delivered messages both at the message circle and the Sunday service; Amalia, a yoga instructor at the center in Montreal; and Geeta a dear friend of Rev. Marilyn's and volunteer for the SSF.
We had another Psychic Fair and I would like to send a big thank you to all who helped to make it such a success. Plans will soon be underway for another Psychic Fair in the Spring of 2009.
Finally we have our much-anticipated new Hymn Books and they are beautifully done. I would like to thank Wanda Shaw for typing them; Jack Macdonald for the formatting, and Eileen Gonzalez who created the cover and adapted the file for printing. A special thanks to David LeBlanc for his caring contribution that helped make this possible. Thank you all for the wonderful energy that has created a beautiful product. Our old books served us for at least fifteen years and I am sure these will last at least that long.
This spring we lost two of our members to the Spirit World. Beryl McLean (Callaghan) and Marilyn Hall both had been long time members of this Fellowship. When I first joined the Fellowship Beryl attended our services regularly and at one time had dedicated to the Ministry Program (prior to the car accident that placed her in a wheelchair). She was a kind, gentle soul and a very giving person. Beryl had great insight and was an avid believer in the Spirit World. I gained much wisdom and knowledge from the stories she told. Marilyn Hall began coming to the Fellowship shortly after I had joined this organization and I know the Fellowship enriched her life. In the beginning, she tried hard to understand why she was in a wheelchair and I do believe that over time she was able to put that in perspective. Marilyn was a person who would always challenge us to keep us on our toes. We will miss both of them very much but know that they are very active on the other side in the Spirit World.
Student Minister Steven Whalen has gone once again to Afghanistan to work. I would ask that you hold him in your prayers for his health and safety while in that country and his safe return to Canada.
Once again we are looking forward to the Annual Conference in Montreal from July 11 to 20. This is truly a wonderful event and if at all possible, I encourage you to attend this conference.
I would like to wish you a joyous and fun summer and safe traveling for those going to other places in the province or elsewhere.
Sincerely,
Rev. Michael Hiltz
